Their Story: Santosh and his younger brother Philip, came from Makwanpur District. Theirparents were brutally  killed by the Maoist during the uprising on August 25, 2006. Santosh and Philip were forced to hide in the forest of Makwanpur for safety.  They were living in the forest scavenging for proper food, water and shelter.  They were too young to understand how to hunt so they filled their bellies with whatever they could find: mushrooms, berries, dead animal. Survival became so difficult during the monsoons because they were so hungry. They thought they were all alone in this world and no one would help them but in 2010 the V.D.C. ( a government agency) brought them to the Hope Family. Medical attention was given because the boys were infested with worms. Philip also had several infected wounds and ulcers. They now are healed love being part of their new family.
