Shrijana, Bibek, and Dilip's father died  4 years before HOPE Family found them.  Their mother fled the village, with fear because of the shame of being a widow, abandoning the children. At first, the village cared for them but eventually they rejected the children. Forcing them to fend for themselves in the harsh jungle areas of Nepal. Unskilled and desperate they were eating whatever they could find; weeds, berries, mushrooms, and dead animals carried by the monsoon floods. The V.D.C. (government agency) asked the Hope Family if we could take them in. With open arms, we accepted them into our home!

Shrijana, Bibek, and Dilip's story was reported to us from eyewitness and the Nepali Government.

Shrijana

Bibek has the biggest “tooth-smile” of the whole group. He never frowns. He is always plying jokes on all of the other children. He is learning really fast in school. His favorite subject is Math. But when school is over, he loves to play games. He is adjusting well in the Hope Family.

Shrijana has so much love in her heart for all the Children at Hope family. Despite the devastation of her past she always has a positive attitude and gives a helping hand.  However, she is struggling in school because she has no prior education. She says her favourite day of the week is Saturday, because she loves church.
